Le « père » de tous les festivals de jazz - il mettait sur pied le Newport Jazz Festival en 1954 - était parmi nous pour notre 30e anniversaire. On lui rend la pareille en le recevant pour son 85e anniversaire de naissance ! Toujours aussi vert, le producteur, promoteur et pianiste George Wein poursuit ses visites à travers la planète avec des représentants de la crème du jazz. Aux Howard Alden (guitare), Lew Tabackin (sax ténor), Peter Washington (basse) et Lewis Nash (batterie), qui nous avait visités en 2009, s’ajoutent cette fois à la formation menée par le pianiste octogénaire le trompettiste Randy Brecker et la jeune sensation de l’heure, la clarinettiste-saxophoniste Anat Cohen.

The «father» of all jazz festivals-he created the Newport Jazz Festival in 1954-Wein was here with us for our 30th anniversary. We’re returning the favour by welcoming him back to celebrate his 85th birthday! As young as ever, producer, promoter and pianist George Wein still visits the four corners of the globe with the cream of the jazz scene. This time out, the octogenarian pianist not only brings in Howard Alden (guitar), Lew Tabackin (tenor sax), Peter Washington (bass) and Lewis Nash (drums), who visited us in 2009, but trumpeter Randy Brecker and clarinetist-saxophonist Anat Cohen, the young sensation of the moment.
