    Tue 12 Jul – A Perfect Circle

Very disappointing show. Put the fact that it was 105 degrees in the pavillion aside... the opening band was unlistenable and they played ONE song (I think) from Mer de Noms... a hacked up version of 3 Libras. 2 hacked up covers (Imagine and What's going on)..... Maynard is a god but his insistence on standing in the back in the shadows THE ENTIRE SHOW was weak. People come to see the band and you are part of the band... show your face MJK.

Anyway.... There are worse things than a disappointing APC show but this was certainly disappointing. From the energy in the venue... I would say I am not alone in my opinion.

Saw Soundgarden at Comcast Center 2 days earlier... and they ROCKED it.

    Tue 12 Jul – A Perfect Circle

The night started great, we ended up getting awesome seats at my favorite venue. They started rather early and Maynard was typically set back on a platform off to the sec 3 side of the stage. He was garbed in a tight black police uniform equipped with aviator sunglasses . Billy Howerdel was front and center. His guitar was amazing as was his vocals. The drummer was clearly enjoying himself.

I had some catching up to do with this show since I hadn't listened to Thirteenth Step or Emotive hardly at all. But my homework payed off. They played the best of Thirteenth Step but Mer de Noms was sadly lacking. The three libras remix was unrecognizable by many. But they impressed me when Maynard announced that they were going to skip the typical encore bullshit and just stay and play the final three songs. I've never got the encore thing when everyone knows they're going to be back in 2 minutes and I've never seen a band break that cycle so I was all for it.
