Описание

Rock 'n' Roll Legend Joe Cocker has announced plans to team up with Huey Lewis & the News for a co-headlining summer tour! http://HUEY.jonesbeach.com

Joe Cocker first appeared on television on the Ed Sullivan show in 1969 and has had hit records in every decade since then. He also has recorded several platinum albums, was filmed singing singing in front of thousands at Woodstock, has sung movie theme songs and has performed before royalty and heads of state. Cocker will be touring in support of his 21st studio album, Hard Knocks. Produced by Matt Serletic (Matchbox 20, Carlos Santana), Hard Knocks features nine new songs as well as a cover of the Dixie Chicks’ “I Hope”. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with songs being mixed by Chris Lord-Alge and mastered by Bob Ludwig. “I don’t know what you would call this album: ‘rock/pop’?” Cocker said in a press release. “It’s a little more pop than I’ve been into for quite a while so it would scare me sometimes. I would do the basic tracks and then Matt would go away and do some of these overdubs and he had all these electronic things on there. It was sometimes like, ‘Oh, my god!’. But I wanted to work with Matt very much. And I always knew what kind of record we would be making.”

Huey Lewis and the News is known for the group's contagious brand of straight-ahead rock 'n' roll. They have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and carried the banner as the quintessential American rock band. In addition, their "Power Of Love," from the 1985 hit film "Back To The Future," which went all the way to Number 1 on Billboard's singles chart, was nominated for an Academy Award. The News features saxophonist Johnny Colla, drummer Bill Gibson, guitarist Stef Burns, keyboardist Sean Hopper, and bassist John Pierce.

Huey Lewis & The News released their first album in nearly a decade with 2010′s Soulsville, their ninth studio effort overall. The album pays tribute to the rich Stax legacy of the 1960′s and 19770′s. Recorded at the historic Ardent Studios in Memphis, the album features 14 classic songs from the vault of Stax Records. One of the original Stax co-engineers, Jim Gaines, who also engineered the band’s best-selling albums, Sports and Fore!, produced Soulsville with the band.
