lame layout!

Truthfully I hate the new layout. First and foremost, IT'S NOT BLACK! Shame on you Last.fm, you should know better than to introduce a new version of the site without a complete black version to go along with it. Introducing a white version, and scaring all of ours eyes just makes us more angry about the change.

Now I might be a weird user of Last.fm, but I don't use the site to socialize, listen to music, or discover music. I ONLY use last.fm to track my musical statistics, and to tell me what I have been listening too. And frankly, the new layout is a gigantic letdown. I really hate having the player right on top of my profile (which btw is adblocked now), you've fucked my ability to easily access my statistics in a quick and user friendly way by changing your charts and profile layout, and my omi chart thing no longer works.

The profile page is much more bulky than it was. The recently listened tracks takes up so much of the page, and it no longer has the album covers which I greatly enjoyed. I dislike the new design for the to artists charts (perhaps I would like them better if they were with the black background), and I really hate how I no longer see my top seven artists of the week. I do like what you've done with the library though.

I HATE RECENT ACTIVITY TRACKER! I know you can turn it on or off, but I just hate the fact that that annoying box is on my profile page. I don't need it there and I don't want it there. If you want to go into the facebook design vein then at least give me the ability to remove elements of the page I dislike, and let me move my profile back over to the right side of the page where it belongs.

In the end just make the layout black again, give me the ability to control my layout, and bring back the top artists for the past week in it's own separate module and I'll be happy. Just make it work again.

EDIT: Oh and BTW I want my neighbors back on the profile page. Half the fun of last.fm was starting on your page and jumping from neighbor to neighbor's neighbor and seeing where you end up. I miss that :(

i miss my old last.fm in which i was in love

I'm getThere is tin gused to it, there's something wrong when listing related videos, they're stucked when you go down the list.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but the new design really doesn't fit the aesthetic of last.fm. An option to switch to the old layout would be a really good move on their part, since the reaction on the forums and in the comments seems to be overwhelmingly negative.

I have no issue with the white background--in fact, I prefer it. But I agree with the folks who've said that the lack of contrast between the colors chosen for the new design makes it difficult to use. I had to look very carefully to find the volume control on the playlist flash thingie, for example. Dark grey on a black background is virtually unreadable for someone (me) with 39-year-old eyes and thick glasses!

I used to like this site before. I rarely see myself here anymore and then it is just to see if any proggress has happened.

Shoutbox in the bottom is bad, was better in right side
white bars in the sides are bad

I really liked to see weekly top artist in the the same wiev with all time top artists

Whiners, the new interface is amazing. Huge improvement.

I was going to reply to a post I saw before, but it seems the forums are so broken that I have to wait for that entire page to reappear again.

i've never seen anyone screw their site up on quite this scale. the old site was a beacon of usability in the mire that is the internet. the new one sucks balls, it sucks huge hairy balls. i can't see a single improvement amongst the unimaginably large number of deteriorations in usability, stability, look, feel and response times of the site, wtf did they think they were doing? the people responsible for this need to be made accountable (ie fired and slapped on their way out the door), lets hope the have a back-up of the old site somewhere.

Just would like to add that the old layout was much more space efficient and made more sense.

They could have added all the new functions and scripts without changing the layout and the feel of the site.

They gave the site the whole Facebook layout and feel to make it more accessible to new users who derive from the other social networking sites, but they didn't realise that the new layout feels EXTREMELY uncomfortable for the old/veteran users. Not only that but anyone with any sense of design knows that the post-Myspace layouts are ugly, dumb-down and very impractical.

Last but not least the banner is horrible and cheap, it looks like it was made by a kid who discovered photoshop and "vintage" on the same day. No offence but it really does.
