Ozzy or Dio?

Who do you prefer as frontman of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne or Ronnie James Dio?

I would have to say Ozzy. While I prefer the purity of Ronnie James' much more than Ozzy's, the reputation and amount of classic songs came during Ozzy's time with the band.

He is the reason they are known, and is more popular than Ronnie James for his success with the band.

Just my thoughts; post yours.

Ozz its classic - whitout him there will be no BS, but i love dio vocal (solo carrier to) so i will say DIO:)

I know only a few albums from Black Sabbath, by Ozzy. Also the live ones I usually listen to is always with him.

So I can't really be fair, but I say Ozzy.

lol - i dont like Martin - Eternal Idol its mistake that Iommi will never make again... this Legendary Guitaris looking then for new patch and want to try new sound (like usa band from that time) - BS its Ozzy and Dio - thats reall Sabbath spirit!

it has to be ozzy, to me (including the others of course) thats what makes black sabbath who they are.

As far as I'm concerned, they stopped being Black Sabbath when Ozzy left, even though I like Dio. Those early albums are amazing to this day.

Ozzy. More Sabbath songs of his that I like, but I like Dio too. Such a powerful voice, but he only did 3 albums with them... less good songs than Ozzy.

dio voice simply doesnt fit the classic BS style, when i joined sabbath changed, i aint sayin for the worse

but its always guna be ozzY!!!!

Dio 'cause Ozzy, although he has made famous BS, is a porr singer. Ronnie is The Metal Voice for excellence

Ozzy is a great singer. He's had more success solo than Sabbath without him or Dio in or out of Sabbath. You don't do that by being a crappy singer.

Definately Ozzy. I respect Dio but i think with Ozzy there is a dark, unspoken mystique to the band. Somehow i don't think Dio carried that through.

I suspect that Ozzy is thought to be better then Dio just because most classic BS songs were done with him. But Dio's vocals are definately better from a professional point of view. Whatever the case I vote for Ozzy.

Professional point of view? Music is subjective, not objective. Ozzy's unique style is what makes him so great.

Of course, if you define "profession" as a way to make money, clearly Ozzy wins out in that department anyway.
