Out Of Reach

Having now finally listened to this album, I can understand why it has such a bad reputation. Large parts of it sound like a second rate OST for a late 70s porn movie. Jaki sounds totally bored and indifferent, his drumwork lacks enthusiasm and is almost unrecognizable. "Like Inobe God" is a total trainwreck, almost everything on this track sounds completely disjointed. What were they thinking?

The only element which surprised me a little was Reebop's voice. After everything I've read in reviews I was ready to hate his guts, but when I heard it, I was quite fine with it. Okay, his voice is clearly not the best ever, but he isn't a male Yoko Ono either.

What do others think about this album? Share your thoughts! :)

i myself eventually purchased said album a couple of months ago,after putting it off for,i don't know,14 years or so,and as you mentioned,it sounded just like a bad porn soundtrack!i mean,with can you always expect something different,hence the reason why i always loved them,but this is just shit!it really lacks any sparkle,and sounds almost as though they were trying to get on a bandwagon of some sort-possibly disco or something,i don't really know!still,every band is entitled to make a bad album or two,and this is one of them.nuff said!
