  I love people who waste hours at a time shouting nothing but their black and white, profanity-filled, opinion(s) in a shoutbox on Last.fm on the internet. I don't even waste my time reading comments anymore, cause no matter what, there's always at least one pathetic low-life on every artist's page who just wants attention. I'm almost to the point where I want to leave Last.fm because of it. Trolling, flaming, and utter stupidity is why I hopped off the YouTube train. Next stop, LAST.FM!

  Metal elitists make me ashamed to be a metalhead sometimes. Why can't we all just get along & agree that one's taste is not better than the other? I remember arguing with this guy in my shoutbox & I told him that I can listen to what I want even though he said I listened to some horrible bands. I can't help that I listen to a fuckton of bands from a variety of metal sub-genres.

  yes pillcake, you are true, mainstream is just less then 1% of the music industry, but those listeners just listen to those artists because they dont search for new ones by themselves, humans have very different tastes in things, it would be impossible that this double super ultra mega extreme amount of listeners would like the same things. So the explanation to this is that most of listeners just get into a new artist when tv shows a new artist to them. Since as I said before, the numbers of mainstream artists are less then 1% of the total music industry, this huge amount of listeners will listen to this ultra tiny list of artists no matter what musical taste they have. The reason is that because of their way of getting into new music, its like if the music industry was composed of almost only those mainstream artists, so, no matter what taste they have, those mainstream artists are the only ones that "exist", so, they can't listen to other things, since they dont "exist".
