  Actually, Layne was born in Kirkland, Washington and he died in Seattle, Sean Kinney was born in Renton, Washington that is situated 13 miles southeast of Seattle.

  Actually, Layne Staley and Sean Kinney WERE born in Seattle. Jerry Cantrell is born in Tacoma, which is also in Washington. Sean still lives there, and most of the 'seattle bands' members were not born in Seattle, but spent most of their time there. Even Krist and Kurt who are from Aberdeen and spent their life in Aberdeen and Olympia had the important things done in Seattle ;)
