I wasn't playing my tracks exceptionally quickly, just one after the another really. But surprisingly, it's working alright again! :D

I think it was something acting dodgy on last.fm's end, because I noticed that it was taking too long for that pink "just listened" to disappear once I finished listening to the song.

My bad guys; I would never just disappear like that. You'd get some kind of warning. As it happens, I don't know about the future of the free RPIs because of the Last.fm ones, I'm now loosing lots of money a month where before I was breaking even. But this was unrelated, a little server problem I had to do drive all the way to London to fix :/
