This group is for people who find it annoying that not every metal band that does well is metalcore. What's worse is the tagging of a band as metalcore when it is proclaimed as a totally different...

The band Darkest Hour had an article written about them in Revolver when they released Undoing Ruin. The article was specifically denouncing the label of metalcore being put on them. They actually attacked the topic and took offense to being labeled metalcore. This is why people are retarded. Please, don't take it upon yourself to decide what genre a band falls in if they clearly have a genre they work to be in. Feel free to contact me with suggestions for the group or other bands to include in the list. Thanks.

If you are 5 guys with no intent to look "metal" with baseball-hats and short styled hair you culkd sound like morbid angel and you'd still be metalcore! there is a band from the same region as i live in sweden called "As You Drown" Good music, but they play acording to some of their fans, Teknical death metal, but imo they are metalcore/Deathcore. if you done look "metal" dont expect to be called metal!

Darkest Hour is metalcore. It doesn't mean they don't have other influences in their music, all bands do. Their firmament is solidly grounded in metalcore though

i actually haven't heard any band that is not metalcore being called metalcore yet :) just some bad "popbands?" bands that are not metalcore being called metalcore

Well I must agree with the title of this group, since metalcore is not really metal but heaps of shit that think they are metal. But I am greatly alarmed that a group that doesn't like the labling of real metal as metalcore has a "Nu-Metal" band in the top list "Linkin Park". Nu-Metal and Metalcore are the enemy! Embracethishell "anything from germany." Unless that is a weird named band that is such a BS statement, most metal bands from Germany would fall under power metal (and/or speed), more than anything else (see the major bands like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy) or the other side of the spectrum and being Melodic Black/Death... I can see why your linked bands can be seen as that metalcore shit though. Superjoint Ritual "“Use Once and Destroy”, their debut album, is a frenzied mix of hardcore, punk, and thrash metal." Well that basically means metalcore. The rest are basically pretty poor death metal bands.
