A band claiming edge to be just for the notoriety of being an edge band, and having content to sing about is the same thing as having your girlfriend fake an orgasm. Someone you trust is lying to you.
It's a fucking shame because it happens more than you would think.

I've heard stuff about Casey Jones... But I don't want to believe it.

The music means so much more when you know that the content of it is being performed by people who are passionate about the topic.

Verse is amazing, but I'm not too concerned.
I'll still throw the CD in from time to time, just like I did before.

Faith by definition is believing something despite a hoard of evidence otherwise, losing faith is by all means a positive thing.

Drinking is neither positive or negative (probably won't win any favours in a straight edge group but hey it's my opinion), if you drink you drink, if you abuse drink you suck.

If it were ever revealed just how many straight-edge 'icons' aren't - or never even were - actually straight-edge, then everyone would do the sane thing and stop caring about whether or not any one band is 'edge'.

Don't claim Idols, they always fall. If you want to be Straightedge do it for yourself.

If a band is straightedge thats cool and it's a shame when they break but forget them, thats their downfall not yours.

They have stopped their own carrer because they know people won't respect them as much, they aint the greatest band in the world and there wil be more to come who break edge.

I feel people care about when a band breaks edge or decides it's not for them because the band highly influences many people. I know I am influenced by some of my favorite bands.

Agree with that.

If you really need to know bands/people are sXe or even really care that much, they you might want to re-assess your reasons for being sXe. Because sure to hell it sees like a lot of you are insecure about it and need some sort of 'icon' to hlep you with it.

Still had one of the most positive messages out there, I love the lyrics they wrote and the message to our youth was amazing.. not every band I listen to has to be edge, just don't hate them because they broke, at least he admitted it and didn't try and hide that shit.

verse were always only okay. there are way better melodic hardcore bands, but to people who really care about the edge break... ray cappo broke edge too. more than once.
