Connection and collection of early pop jazz and proto-jazz, tin pan alley, vaudeville, music hall, and early pop music fans and artists! The focus will be on music from 1910-1935.

(So far things may look spare around here, but I'm not going to pour my heart into it until I'm no longer the only member!)

Contrary to last.fm "Tin Pan Alley" tag radio, Tin Pan Alley music is not Bjork, Amy Winehouse and Tom Waits. Tin Pan Alley is the golden beginning of American popular music. Please help improve the "tin pan alley" and "vaudeville" tags by using them on genuine early-American popular music artists!

Occasionally I may post articles about fine contemporary artists who are perpetuating the grand old traditions of Vaudeville, early jazz, music hall song and more, but don't expect to see the Dresden Dolls here.

    would'nt it be better to start a new tag(radio) rather than trying to improve the existing tags? i've had lots of diverse experiences over the lastfm and all of them taught me that you cannot fight the "silent majority"...

    Seems like i proper group for me, especially cause I'm in a process of reading The History of Jazz. I hope this group will grow and not die out :)
