    Circumventing /. Censorship

Can't post something on slashdot due to blacklisting? Send it to me, with a message of where it needs to be said, and I will post it.

    Blacklist?

    Hi,

I did not know there is something like a blacklist on slashdot, or do you mean more like "banned users" or something.

Slashdot has defended itself a couple of times against laywers who orded them to take down posts,
stating that _they_ don't edit posts.
That's the job of the moderators.
(currently someone like me :-) )

huibertgill: There are blacklists. You can get on them by merely pissing off the /. admin. Your posts remain on /., but you'll find yourself unable to make more.

There's multiple levels of blacklist; you can be outright forbidden to post, unable to moderate, and unable to meta-moderate(?).

And, of course, on top of all that there's getting your posts outright removed for copyright infringement, or pissing off the church of Scientology.

And it doesn't have to be you, either; anyone who shares your ip address range can get banned, leaving you to be banned. This also applies to tor and other users of systems where your ip address is decoupled from your identity.

That all being said, I haven't seen it happen in awhile. This might mean it's not happening much any more, or it might mean that I'm just not hearing about it.
