the early 60s and beyond, the young days of Sir HendRix.

whilst the USA brought rock'n'roll to europe, the BEATLES and other groups adapted this style and
created the new irish and welsh inspired sound of liverpool, with guitar-dominated line-ups,
vocal harmonies and catchy tunes—and tout le monde knew :

this was b e a t music !

and i loved it !

the rolling stones played b e a t music, too, relying more on the then popular 'rhythm and blues'.
only with their smash hit 'satisfaction', a harder kind of b e a t music was born which years later
was to be called 'rock' music ( simply by abbreviating the term 'rock 'n' roll' ).

everything else is history. b e a t music rocked—and it rolled out over the world.

thanks god, the unknowing people of today have pigeonholed b e a t music as 'rock' or even worse
'classic rock' only, i can live with that ( in fact, it's 'celtic' and 'world', but ssh ... don't let them spoil
our tag system even more ;-)

from 1965 to 1972 german TV brought the Beat-Club as a music programme which featured all the
now famous so-called 'classic rock' acts ( remember, 'rock' didn't yet exist ). this was sensational for
the conservative german TV, and teenie ( not yet Sir ) HendRix watched every episode, this was
even better than radio ( and way better than MTV today ). now to be listened on last.fm. enjoy.
