Tobias Sammet’s Avantasia (Авантазия Тобиаса Саммета) — симфо-метал/пауэр-метал-проект вокалиста группы Edguy Тобиаса Саммета. В него входят два альбома The Metal Opera 2001 и 2002 годов выпуска, два сингла: Carry Me Over и Lost in Space, полноформатный альбом The Scarecrow, вышедший в 2008, а также два альбома: The Wicked Symphony и Angel Of Babylon, вышедшие в 2010 году

Название «Авантазия» — волшебная страна, где происходит действие — образовано из слияния слов «Авалон» и «фантазия» и означает «мир за пределами человеческого воображения». Есть, однако, ещё вариант, предлагающий в качестве первого элемента названия приставку «avant-» (движение вперёд).

По словам Саммета, работа над The Wicked Symphony и Angel Of Babylon началась ещё в 2006 году. В записи приняли участие такие музыканты как Клаус Майне (Scorpions), Тим «Ripper» Оуэнс (Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iced Earth), Эрик Сингер (Kiss, Alice Cooper), Майкл Киске (Helloween), Йорн Ланде (Masterplan, Ark, Millenium), Боб Кэтли (Magnum), Феликс Бонке (Edguy), Алекс Хольцварт (Rhapsody, Sieges Even), Рассел Аллен (Symphony X), Йенс Йоханссон (Stratovarius, Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen), Андрэ Матос (Angra, Shaaman, Viper), Брюс Кулик (Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad).

    Someone explain please... I absolutely despise the song I Don't Believe in Your Love, I find it forced, uninspired and its structure... it pokes, it doesn't seem to flow naturally at all. And the letdown chorus. Absolutely horrible song. I just realized that Blizzard on a Broken Mirror actually is musically pretty similar -- and it is one of my favorite from the whole double album! Just what's happening here? :P I like it more than, say, Wastelands, which in turn is like a remake from Shelter from the Rain, which I like very much. Just, what? :D Also, when I'm on a certain mood, I actually like this The Wicked Symphony, the song / Dying for an Angel-like "groovy pop/rock" approach Sammet is constantly putting on nowadays. At the moment, for example, it sounds very good! Normally I have issues with it and I just tend to talk shit about it because in the end, I prefer this older power metal stuff. And did this message make any sense? Really can't say myself... just writing something. -_-
