DJ Turok – Kamil Yegelev – is the most extraordinary person on the Russian electronic scene. He is the DJ, musician, composer, music producer, rebel and rowdy. He has about 10 years of an operational experience in electronic music. But not this fact became a subject of his pride. To put a slice of his own soul in each note – here is the main thing. Other main thing is the way of music performance. Music performance in his favourite styles: progressive and deep house.
«Please, don’t teach me what I should play, and I will not tell you where you should go», - it is his position. DJ Turok struggled for a long time to become independent in the question of a music format. His dj-sets and podcasts breaks all stereotypes about DJs and their work. His energy infects public and listeners – that’s his achievement. He makes everything for the sake of a holiday and aesthetics.
Arabica is his project. It is the creative tandem of him and Ivan Kolpakov - the composer and the DJ with ideal taste and scent. This project has outdone envious persons and mammoths of the Russian electronic scene. Arabica’s tracks are supported by DJs all over the world, among them Pete Tong and Jay Cox. The non-standart approach of remix work is highly marked by such labels as Armada and Ministry of Sound
