Sa., 2. Jul. – The Big Four

Es gibt Bands, die sind einfach großartig. Dazu gehören auch die Big 4, bestehend aus Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, und Metallica. Diese vier Ausnahmebands spielen seit einiger Zeit gemeinsam Konzerte und kamen nun auch nach Deutschland, genauer gesagt in die Schalke-Arena nach Gelsenkirchen. Die Ticketpreise waren gesalzen. Ich habe für mein Innenraumticket über 90€ (inkl. Versand und Gebühren) bezahlt.

Trotzdem habe ich mir ein Ticket besorgt und bin auch am 2. Juli auch nach Gelsenkirchen gepilgert. Der Hintransport klappte ganz gut, auch wenn die S-Bahn und die Straßenbahn recht voll waren. An der Arena angekommen, musste man sich erstmal orientieren, an welchem Eingang muss man rein. Ich musste zum Nordeingang. Dort empfing mich ein inkompetenter, etwas unfreundlicher (ich will mal zu Gute halten, dass er aus dem Ruhrgebiet kommt, und hier ein etwas rauherer Ton herrscht) und leicht überforderten Sicherheitsmann, der eine Sonnenbrille nicht von einem gefährlichen Gegenstand unterscheiden kann. …

Artillery - Terror Squad
Artillery is a thrash band from Denmark. As soon as you pop this CD in you are greeted by the energic fast-paced and advanced thrash that this band is known for. From beginning to end there is not one dull moment.

To me Artillery was THE best Heavy Metal export of Denmark, I have no idea why they didn't get bigger than they were. Perhaps it was the terrible album art. This is by miles the ugliest album I have in my collection, and that includes some really cheap no-name albums. I hope it was on purpose.

I know people are pretty polarized about this one. I heard that it was mastered terribly back when it originally came out. My opinion after a few listens is, that this is not at all on the level of Heaven And Hell or Mob Rules, but it's not bad at all. …
