All right, scrap that early 2020 release. Someone attending 'Tid The Season last weekend asked Jordan about the status of the album. They going in the studio next month, have written about 13 songs for the album and want to release it September 2020.

Tough call. Keith has written so many great lines. The one you mentioned, for me, is on par with "All hail the wounded heart contingent for giving us something more than faultlessness to sing about" (Gloom and how it gets that way), "The closed circuit of stimulus that runs between fashion and guilt is winding tighter around the heart // Our orbits are collapsing upon themselves but we stand in the traffic indifferent to the grand histrionics of god, unmoved" (Depressionista) & the opening lines to "Holy book of dilemma" => "Insect lust or insect love, there's no telling them apart if you're not a bug. // But from down here I can see the gears. The guts of the watches, molecular tiers. // Now, if you're a bug in insect love then you only do things with other bugs. But if it's lust (and survival is a must) than the things that you do are to other bugs. // There are laws built into the nest and this is the crux of it. But how do you apply this to the world?" - amazing lines!!

I heard from a somewhat reliable source that the new album should come out around early 2020.

What fucking cock head called this music screamo. People need to learn their fucking genres.

lol e.t.i.d. is a pretty screamo influenced band... have you ever listened to their first few releases?? they always came out of appealing to the screamo/post-hardcore/metalcore scene we grew up with in the very early 2000's...

Dude screamo is not a genre, it was made up and now people just use it because they don't know the real genres.

haha fair enough. yeah, i wouldn't call etid a predominantly "screamo" band either.. (but that has always been true with /that/ genre.. at least they were somewhat on the money for once, instead of calling like a skylight drive screamo or shit lol.) more like metalcore w/ mathcore, alternative rock, & post-hardcore influences.

I'm sorry man, I just take my music very very seriously. Everyone calls metal and such screamo and it fucking annoys me so much. But I guess if it is a genre I better get used to it.

This might be an unpopular opinion but From Parts Unknown is my favorite ETID album. They don't have a single bad release, though.

Low Teens should be one of the greatest albums of the last decade. couldnt stop listening when it first released. and still, it keeps playing in my mind even if i dont listen.

Really enjoying the lyrics, especially on Map Change. No wonder Keith was a English teacher, this guy is a poet.

Was not a fan of a band until listened to Lows Teens: when i was totally blasted by its tune! I like how they richly mix stoner with heavier parts and also absolutely love signing on it too!

ex lives, from parts unknown and low teens just keep getting better each time. no idea how these dudes manage to get better still every release after 8 albums. glitches, it remembers, petal, 1977 and map change are phenomenal. tbf two summers is a bit shit but never been a fan of those types of track (e.g. el dorado and inrihab) and the bonus track offering is a bit weak but they're bonus tracks so still no complaints. i think at this point they don't have to play ebolarama bored stiff and we'rewolf at every show any more and can probably just stick with the last few albums.

Low Teens is so much more visceral and mature. Damn, I'll be getting so many speeding tickets with this bomb in my car.

"Nothing Visible; Ocean Empty" sounds like a heavier version of Deftones with ETID unique touch.

Low Teens has a couple of killer songs like Glitches, Petal, and 1977, but is mostly made up of lackluster Nirvana worship snoozers, continuing their backslide ever since Rat Boy left. I was hoping the new producer would have resolved the horrible production of Ex Lives and From Parts Unknown, but Low Teens sounds even more flat, dull, and devoid of energy than the former 2 albums (in spite of being over-produced with tons of vocal harmony layers and guitar overdubs). Absolutely horrible drum sound, like tennis balls thrown against couch pillows.

From Parts Unknown and Ex-Lives have great production. You know, Kurt Ballou. New one is great too, imo.
