Leolife aka Luke Curran & Stephen Glide was formed back in June 2009. Luke & Stephen have known each for nearly 10 years so joining forces was an easy decision for them both. Before Leolife, they had been DJ'ing individually in some of London's top nightclubs causing some serious dancefloor damage, so by bringing their combined DJ experiences and skills together, a formidable partnership was created.
Soon after Leolife formed, their main focus became music production as in their opinion, DJ'ing and production go hand in hand. The past 2 & half years have been a big learning curve, with many late nights at their home studio's developing their production skills.
Leolife's debut release was early in 2011 on Infra Progressive with their 'Moment Of Truth' E.P, which gained widespread support including an airing on Armin Van Buuren's A State of Sundays radio show.
The follow up single 'Virago' also received plenty of support and came with two superb remixes from Cramp & Hanski. The third release came as another E.P called Arrow, which was complimented by Red Lights; both tracks equally successful in their own right. The most recent single is the impressive Fused, which the guys feel is their best track to date. The original, which has recently been supported by Markus Schulz, Max Graham and Grube & Hovsepian, is not the only take on the track; there is also a club mix which was produced with the later, more driving club sets in mind.
The hard work doesn't stop after a few releases though, which Steve and Luke freely admit. The constantly evolving music industry has shown time and time again that producers and Dj's alike cannot stand still and must move with the industry in order to stay relevant. Whilst continuing to develop their production skills, they are always on the look out to see who is doing what in the industry and support upcoming producers, which is evident in their monthly Fused podcast series.
For the rest of 2012, there are more singles, E.P's and remixes planned for release on Infra Progressive so watch this space!!!
You can catch Leolife DJ regularly across London for nights like Electronic Sessions, Trance Sanctuary & Plastic Fondu. They have warmed up and closed for Matt Darey, Lange, Jon O'bir, Oliver Smith, Genix, Agnelli & Nelson and Martin Roth, just to name a few.
