I go with both and am pretty happy. There is a natural evolution between their new wave-based 80s prog and the later indie prog.

Hey, I’m just kidding around. I am honestly glad you and others like their music. Music is a great conduit to express feelings and process complex emotions you might not otherwise be able to accomplish without it. And it is highly subjective. While I didn’t like what I heard, it just isn’t for me. But I’m glad it is for you. :)

Marillion with friends from the Orchestra <--- torci o nariz quando soube desta ideia deles, mas confesso que ficou um trabalho decente, sem grandes exageros orquestrais. Bem mais completo e original do que o "Less is More" (não sei se me faço entender...), pois esse é aquele álbum de toda a discografia que verdadeiramente dispenso, devido ao "Unplugged At The Walls" esse sim, de brilho intenso. Cheers

I feel so sorry for everyone who wastes their time listening to the albums that feature Hogarth :)

Why? I feel sorry for ignorant folks like you that aren't willing to accept a different style. I personally much prefer Hogarth over Fish but it's fine that you think otherwise! Fish is an amazing singer and lyricist, as is Hogarth. I just don't understand how you can refuse to accept that the band has moved on to something new, would you rather they release 14 more 'Misplaced Childhood's? I certainly don't. Brave, Afraid of Sunlight, Marbles, Sounds That Can't Be Made and F E A R are some of their best works! Not to mention the countless other songs on all the albums in between... In my opinion not a single 'bad' album from this band. (Ok maybe Holidays in Eden... but even it has some good tracks!)

I have no issue with accepting different genres and sounds, but it doesn't sound genuine :) Maybe I just don't like his voice or vibe...

Yeah I get it... I guess for me Hogarth's vibe and voice seem incredibly intimate and emotional, especially Brave onwards... Can't say I care much for Seasons End (Besides Easter and The Space) and Holidays in Eden (Besides Splintering Heart). Songs like This Strange Engine, Invisible Man, Neverland, Three Minute Boy, Sky Above the Rain, just lovely songs that are teeming with emotional colours. I suppose I understand where you're coming from since that's almost exactly how I feel about some of the Fish-era stuff! Anyways no hard feelings.

Да, последний тоже хорош, согласен. Наверное, со времен "Clockworks Angels" от Rush ничего столь мощного от классиков не выходило.

I lost Marillion after "Brave" ... "FEAR" is really a great album. I love it - will see Marillion this year at the NOTP Festival at the Loreley :-)

I listned to them too much when I was younger, now I can understand what my friend meant when he said that everything by Marilion sound like some 80's Europe Shit. Script for a Jester's Tear is still good tho!

Ok now, first time I listen to Marillion and i decided to pick up Radiation cause 1998 was so important for me in music, I give it a spin and I'm simply blown away by its beauty, then i come here and find out Marllion fans consider it their worst one or close to it, damnit other albums must be beyond my imagination!

Lol do you still believe that Hogarth would make music like something from Fish era? Never! There are two different bands, there are two different musicians - h and Fish. In the context of h' music Marillion is a great band with such an amazing sound and lyrics. You must be thankful that Steve was agree to play old stuff on shows. Forget Fish years! They are in past far away and never will come again. Amen. FEAR is amazing, it seems like they took the experience of last four albums and on that base created a big masterpiece.

No, it's a different band now. I just wish they did some element of prog again or that they wouldn't be referred to as prog band since they have obviously moved to different direcions for a while now. But sorry, did not want to offend any new-age M fans. Hell, I'm gonna see them in Barcelona next summer myself.

Gosh!... Prog is not 7/8 or something like. Prog is the phylosophy, it's a view. Pink Floyd is described as a prog band too, but their music has no Prog stereotypes like 7/8 and etc. The heart of PF music stays in its scale. There is a same situation with h' Marillion. Prog has no frames! Progressive music was named progressive not because of a musical progression. It was named progressive because prog musicians erase traditional musical forms. That's Prog, no other way! PS. And why go to the concert if it's not Prog? Ha-ha!

Fugazi can't be beaten, but.. we sometimes should get rid of the past when scoring new albums. Too many brilliant albums are underrated because of this behaviour. And for me, even if different, F E A R is just brilliant. Subtle and mesmerizing. I haven't listened that good prog-rock album this year.
