As Frank Zappa said: "most rock journalism is people who can't write, interviewing people who can't talk, for people who can't read." Extremely true, if you ask me. However, I'll try my best in this little journal role. Of course, there are thousands upon thousands of music genres. Nevertheless, only a few can boast and entail a sheer bombastic splendour without simultaneously losing any edge of intellectual honesty and rigor. Definitely, progressive metal is one of those. From wiki: " Progressive metal (sometimes known as prog metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal, which blends the powerful, guitar-driven sound of metal with the complex compositional structures, odd time signatures, diverse philosophical lyrics and intricate instrumental playing of progressive rock. Many progressive metal bands are also influenced by jazz fusion and classical music. Like progressive rock songs, progressive metal songs are typically much longer".

This is an article in which I tried to bundle all the great losses of rock'n roll and modern music. That means all the musicians which are worldwide known and died at young age (before 51 years old). I tried to give a little information about the way they died. Most of the information I got from Wikipedia. When someone thinks I forgot an artist or that the information is incorrect... I'm open for new information.

Plane crash. After a winning cointoss and despite of his fear to fly, together with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, he flew out of the Mason City airport in a small plane that Holly had chartered. The plane flew into a blinding snowstorm and crashed shortly after takeoff. This is known as "The Day The Music Died".

Grande voz do hard rock, Ray Gillen, apesar do talento, não foi consagrado pelo sucesso dos anos 80/90, mas deixou sua marca!

Depois de Ozzy Osbourne, Dio e Ian Gillan oficialmente e outros nomes como Glenn Hughes, Ray assumiu os vocais do Black Sabbath na gravação do Eternal Idol. Mas como nem tudo são rosas, após alguns "desencontros" com a banda e uma lesão nasal que inundava suas cordas vocais de sangue devido a uma briga durante a turnê, Ray tomou seu caminho e abriu espaço para Tony Martin que regravou sua linha de vocais para o álbum em questão.

Em 1987, Ray grava sua participação no álbum Hall of the Moutain King, do Savatage. Sua voz inconfundível pode ser apreciada na música Strange Wings.
