In 2006, Nikesh Parmar, better known as DJ Xtreme crashed onto the British guerilla music scene with his various mashups... all of which surfaced on youtube. He was quickly found and just as quickly amassed a cult fanbase - myself included in their numbers. His mashups pretty much always include hip hop or related diva music. If you ask me, his very best mashups mix hip hop with Bollywood music.
Very sadly, some months after I discovered these wonderous creations, they vanished. I couldn't even find any live torrents of the audio itself, no less the videos.
Tonight, I decided to try to search for these things again.
It turns out that Mr. Parmar tore down his original account and set up five separate youtube accounts instead, one for each volume of his remixes. And understandably so - he's posted so many mashup videos that any newcomer might feel a little overwhelmed at having them all in one account.
Here are a few of my treasured favourites.
