It has been said there was never actually a San Francisco sound as such but these two bands could make the case there was, at least circa 1965-1966. It appears they even played some of the same songs live.

Beverly and Jackie Deshannon were, i think, one of the first succesful female pop vocalists of America! Grace Slick, Signe Anderson came afterwards!
