From Pittsburgh, PA this week we’ve got Donora in the Last.fm Discover studio. They’ve recently released their second full-length album Boyfriends, Girlfriends. The band is made up of Casey Hanner (guitar/vocals) and older brother Jake, who are the children of country musician and producer Dave Hanner. Completing the trio is bassist Jake Churton. Although Casey & Jake grew up with music all around them, it wasn’t until Casey was a freshman in college that she and her brother, by suggestion of their dad, started playing together in a band. Check back each day this week as they play songs from the new disc, and talk to us as well. Let’s kick it off with a song they cover on their new album, that was originally done by Billy Idol’s band Generation X (when they were known as Gen X). It was then re-recorded by Billy for his Don’t Stop EP. (Which in fact was released 30 years ago today!)
