Tue 2 Oct – The Decemberists, Land Of Talk This was an interesting gig for a number of reasons. I must say I don't remember much about Land of Talk beyond the fact that i liked them.

The RFH is an all-seater venue, and somehow i didn't think it quite worked for The Decemberists. I can't fault the band, or the set. Starting with The Tain and running through a fair chunk of The Crane Wife, and finishing with the fantastic, audience involved Mariner's Revenge Song, there was a good mix of older and newer.

A fully seated audience really did dampen the atmosphere somewhat, though the audience were certainly enjoying themselves, and the venue is very nice and will be great for classical and light stuff, but maybe not for rockier stuff!
