Ostinato: Great, mostly relaxed post-rock with a somehow jazzy feeling. If this description reminds you a bit of Maserati or The Mercury Program you're right. I definitely would give them a listen. They get louder sometimes and make use of vocals, which honestly is not their strength.

The Angelic Process: A twin of Nadja? Imagine them with shorter songs (ranging from 4-9 minutes), less drone/ambient and a higher doom-factor comparable to Hjarnidaudi, Methadrone or Jesu. Mentioning Jesu, they also have a huge shoegaze influence which makes their CDs sound so warm; amazing. The albums were re-released in 2006 (after perhaps nobody heard of them in 2001 and 2003). Also see Terrorizer Top 40 of 2006 for that.

Lvmen: Well, I won't write much about them, you know that style: references to Neurosis and Isis. However, they released their first CDs even before Cult of Luna did which makes them sound rather individual; some Converge-like hardcore passages, well-produced, authentic. If you're not already sick of these bands, give them a try. I still didn't listen to the latest efforts of Callisto, Transmission0, Rosetta etc. either.

Isis, Mogwai and Jesu would def be in my top 10, and Agalloch, Red Sparowes & Xasthur would probably be in my top 20.

so um die 90% dieser alben habe ich gehört und 80% gemocht. ich finde mastodon müßte auch dabei sein, aber jedem das seine. gute liste.

Top 50 albums of 2006... Might be the top, but seriously, to merely assume there were 50 good albums in 2006... I think there was maybe one and I'm not even certain about that

Went over the list. Silver was actually pretty good but I have a feeling it had potential to be truly great if they made it a tad more experimental. The rest I have not heard because they probably suck
