Cradle of Filth, every-one knows it, and every-one bashes it, for what.. obviously they're not black metal, that warrants a bash. It adds up, Bush isn't black metal and he's bashed too… all right, bad example, but Cradle if associated with it right? Even though they never claimed to be black metal and recently publicly have stated that they aren't, and that ninety per cent of their fans nowadays are well aware of that they aren't black metal.. but even so… uncle true will continue his invasion of Cradlestan and bash it for… not being black metal.

On the other hand of the spectrum we have this little NWOBHM band called Venom, if this is black metal, than so is Iron Maiden, so they made an album called 'black metal and coined the name, they still aren't and every-one being shown the music without a name attached to it who's into black metal will respond with that it isn't black metal. But black metal apparently isn't a musical stylism, but an ideological one.. it's about Satanism… which Cradle of Filth isn't? What makes it even more ludicrous is that Venom on their official site stretch its official nature to being 'the official home page of black metal' and claim to be the 'ORIGINAL INVENTORS AND FOUNDERS' thereof. But Venomstan is never invaded by uncle true and Cradlestan is… I can see why Bush is bashed, it's like having a rich oil resource under your country.

Quite frankly, I'm pretty sure the only reason people bash Cradle is to just follow the lead in the big true genre of individuality, in fact, that's probably how it goes with all those projects being bashed by every-one more true-than-thou. Like Nightwish, true, they suck, they are over the top, they are so overtly cheesy it's not fun any-more, and they're not goth.. but why? what is this illusive 'goth music' to start with, as far as I can tell the only thing all these 'goth bands' have in common is that the artists look lik err.. 'goths'.. it's like visual kei, it isn' a musical stylism, it;'s a fashion style of the performing artists, so why isn't Nightwish goth then? When shit like E-nomine is which is ten times as pompously over the top, and done a lot worse in the arrangements and not Finish? Again, we see people that say what they have to say due to social pressure.

Or Linkin Park, even though it existed before emo and emo isn't called 'Hybrid Theory', it's still 'emo', but six years back it was 'nu metal', it's neither, it's just rock, it's rock, nothing more, it's not metal, it's rock, it's sound-track rock. Why think you there are so many Linkinball Z AMV's? Linkin Park is excellent sound-track music, probably very much suited for Quake III: Arena too. I'd love to fragg a random German kid to get back 'SHEISSE, DU HAST HACKS JA.. ICH WERDE DEINE MUTTER IN IHREN ARSCH FICKEN.' to Linkin Park, and quite frankly I like the music in base state too. But noo, Linkin Park is bashed and people will instead listen to Metallica or Slayer because that's not nu-metal err emo err what-ever music is popular in six years. Even though Linkin Park's fans are mostly rather intelligent gamers and the music is composed insterad of Metallica whose music is largely derived from trying out random shit until it sounds right, and whose fans are savage metallers who go moshing at child porn conventions.

This even goes to electronic music with people bashing things like DJ Sammy, admittedly, sucks, same people love crap like Shivers, the saaahaaame voooocaaal cheeeheessee top fooorty shiiit? But for some reason it has grown here that Armin van Buuren is a respected artist and DJ Sammy isn't, even though they both launch the same vocal cheese into the top 40 and both score the same hits. And Sammy doesn't get 50 000 EUR per half our for sewing tracks together like crap, I've never got that, the live DJ'ing, originally it started as a way to not have a whole two whopping seconds of pause between each tracks, and now DJ's are more important than the tracks itself, admittedly, it takes skill to do it right, and that's probably why Armin, Tijs and Ferry suck at it.

And at the far end of the spectrum we have Lajni, going to dark ambient concerts wearing a white shirt and nekomimi, has a 'kawaii for the win' signature on Nocturnal Activity, and does the reserve on anime oriented fora and IRC channels… all in good fun, I know I suck.
