I changed the recording form this time so that instead of three individual podcast tracks to cover the 3 hours, I've done one track for each of the 10 choices from all four of us, so each track is 16-20 mins long.

The same thing we do every year: get together, play each other a track from each of our ten favourite albums of the year (in this case: 2012) and give each other shit for them.

Last year's recording was pretty murky so this year I put in more effort so it all sounds a bit crisper. For some reason we didn't get quite as drunk so it's pretty coherent all the way down the line.

Akzincke, planetShhhh and I normally send each other top album lists at the end of the year but this time round we decided to get together, play each other a track from our favourite albums and record it all to make a podcast with little appeal to anyone but ourselves.

We didn't know what we were doing so the first track's discussion is a bit disjointed. For all the rest we played the track and talked over the top and got drunk, which led to many rambles that had to be edited out. There was no fancy equipment involved so…

Mokita existed between mid-2001 and late-2007, went through four different line ups and seven members and were briefly a three-piece between full line-ups.

The band name came through a frantic search for something, anything that all four then members could agree on and eventually a page of 'cool words' showed a New Guinea noun meaning 'truths everyone knows but no one talks about'.
