¿Cómo definir el concierto de la mítica banda de los Misfits?Bien es cierto que la actual formación poco tiene que ver, con la que en su día tenía a Glenn Danzig a la cabeza.
El concierto que dieron en la Sala Copérnico, me dejó un sabor agridulce. La parte agria, se la lleva la musical, que bajo mi modesto punto de vista, me resultó pobre; pobre porque tocaban a una velocidad relativamente mayor a la de los temas originales, lo que hacía que las canciones perdieran parte de su esencia. Ese ímpetu por tocar a gran velocidad trajo consigo la ausencia de paradas entre canción y canción, lo que causó el efecto contrario al pretendido: los temas resultaban una amalgama de sonidos difíciles de digerir.(Nunca está de más parar a afinar los instrumentos). Si a eso le sumamos la excesiva distorsión del bajo y la limitada acústica de la sala, los temas se vuelven irreconocibles.
La parte dulce, viene de la mano de su afán por fundirse entre los asistentes. Haciendo gala de las artes seductoras de Marilyn Monroe en la película que les da nombre, Jerry pasó a firmar autógrafos y a fotografiarse con todo aquel que quisiera. Es una actitud antaño no tomaban, pero supongo que cuando hay que llevarse el pan a la boca todos los días, una imagen bien explotada puede transformar el agua en vino.

How can we define the mythic band The Misfits?The current band is truly different from the old one in which Glenn Danzig took the lead.
It turned out to be a sour and sweet tasting concert. The sour part is connected with their music, which did not live up with my expectations.The live songs were faster played than the recorded ones. This fact implied that the songs far from being catchy, they happened to be a combination of noisy sounds hard to cope with - there is nothing worth tuning their instruments at the end of each song- .Moreover the bad concert hall acoustics and the excessive bass distortion added up to change out of all songs recognition.
The sweet concert part is related to Jerry´s hunger for publicity. He seemed to act out Marilyn´s Monroe character performed in the band´s namesake movie. Due to this fact he started to autograph fans´s tickets and having pictures taken with people interested in it. He seems to have undergone a change in attitude recently to become much more show- off. Taking advantage of his public image could mean having something to eat daily.
