Arctic Monkeys - O2 Arena - 29th March 2011

Sat 29 Oct – Arctic Monkeys, The Vaccines

Incredible Night. One of the Best gigs I've ever been too.
I thought the Vaccines were a great warm up band, playing all their album bar one song putting new song Tiger Blood in its place. The Vaccines were full of energy and really hyped me and the rest of the crowd up for my favourite Arctic Monkeys gig to date.
Starting with, what I thought a brilliant opener, Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved You're Chair and moving onto hits Teddy Picker and Crying Lightning the night was off to a flawless start, the Arctic's then played new album tracks The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala and Black Treacle which were both superb. Brianstorm lifted the energy right up with its fast tempo as well as debut albums, The View from the Afternoon and I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor. New B-side track, Evil Twin followed which was excellent and this was then followed by Drummer Matt Helders on lead role for Brick By Brick, which I personally thought was a lot better live than on the album. A surprise appeared when Alex Turner launched into Humbug track Dance Little Liar which hasn't been played since the Humbug Tour. Fast tunes, This House Is a Circus and Still Take You Home picked the energy up again, which was followed into the intense keyboard introduced Pretty Visitors. She's Thunderstorm was a rest for the crowd before unleashing fan favourite Fluorescent Adolescent. Do Me A Favour got the crowd jumping ready for the hectic When the Sun Goes Down in which Mosh Pits, Crowd Pushing and Crowd Surfing were all present. The badn then left the stage to cheers. A few minutes passed before the band came back on for an encore. The first track was new single Suck It And See which included a sing a long from the crowd before bassist Nick O'Mally had a rest and the remaining three members, mainly Alex and Jamie, surprised the crowd once again with an intimate acoustic version of fan favourite Mardy Bum. The show ended with a final surprise of Alex Turner introducing Miles Kane on for 505, ending the show incredibly.
A truly amazing gig in which Arctic Monkeys were the best I've ever seen them.
10/10
