I sent you a small concert review on Facebook Messenger. As you can see on my page, I am currently loving the fourth movement of Mahler's 9th Symphony directed by Alan Gilbert (oh, Last Fm says it is Michael Halász I am listening to, but it is a lie.......)

Does this mean that you too will be suffering from a bout of Mahleria? Haha. Admittedly, I have never come under Alan Gilbert's spell. Something about his conducting that simply doesn't stand out to me but I haven't heard his recording of the 9th symphony. I'll give it a listen and report back.

I just heard Arvo Pärt's Te Deum and Berliner Messe, and I like them very much. In case you know more about his oeuvre than I do (I know nothing except for this one recording I have with Peter Dijsktra), could you maybe recommend some Arvo Pärt compositions for me? Of course it isn't urgent, so only if and when you have time.

Thank you, I will check them soon. So you don't dig into the contemporary, but what about Toru Takemitsu and Ryuichi Sakamoto?

That's an intelligent combination indeed. Would you recommend me some contemporary japanese music? Exactly the kind you often listen to.

Hey, I'm doing a little survey: If you should pick one male musician and one female musician for an ideal collaboration, who would you pick? Beautiful music here, also the quotes in the about me section are really insightful.

こんにちは, lastfm recommended you as friend to me (in its [url=http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Find_friends_on_Last.fm/Maestro2014]friend finder[/url] app). Since we've a mutual friend ([user]music_scholar[/user]), I'd appreciate it when you accept my friend request also. Perhaps, listen first to my [url=http://www.last.fm/user/Erkan-Yilmaz/journal/2014/12/23/6clrgm_compositions]own releases[/url] (I tagged them mostly with: [tag]violin[/tag], [tag]piano[/tag], [tag]experimental[/tag], [tag]minimal[/tag], [tag]wood and string[/tag]. And [url=http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Music_compositions_listeners]here[/url] you can see which tracks other lastfm listeners liked most.)

yes, I love Instagram. I finally bought a proper smartphone.. hehe. I follow few accounts but I try to check out all the pics posted. I don't take so many myself. Something to do with living such a reclusive life.... You should also listen to Prokofiev's piano concerto no. 2 if you haven't already. Such an exhilarating piece! And he wrote it at such a young age! There is a recording with Yuja Wang at the piano and Dudamel directing the accompanying orchestra on Spotify. Greetings!!!!!

hello..... yesterday I heard the Russian pianist Nikolai Demidenko play Prokofiev's piano concerto no. 2 (with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia) and I think we all in the audience were awestruck !! I am listening now to some of his records on Spotify (I could only find 3) and the piano is excellent.. So I do recommend him if you didn't know him. How're things, anyway ??

Can't really remember which ones except the Kindertotenlieder. I first came across them in school when a talented young baritone sung Nun seh ich wohl... at a recital, at that time I had been a fan for about a year (I started listening around age 15). Other than that I remember listening to all the symphonies, often times in bed with speakers on, just staring at the ceiling. I also attended a concert by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra when they played his 5th. I think my ears have matured a lot since then, so I will probably get a better grasp on his works now than I had back then. Should be fun!

You've inspired me to get back into Mahler! I was a big fan in my early teens.

i think the sound quality has improved a little but you still cant play FLAC as in foobar. the good part is you have a rather acceptable album and artist library.

Interesting if you get to compare them with his philosophy: like water and oil. Apolineous.
