It's the holidays! Time to gain some pounds and do some partying - if you're into that. To celebrate the season, I've put together a playlist of 70s disco inspired songs. That's right disco.
I'm sure you've been wondering where will this never ending music recycling take us next. We started off the 00s with post-punk and garage rock, then proceeded to shoegaze and late 80s synth pop. In the last 2 years, there's been an explosion of 60s beach pop and the 90s vibe. I have personally noticed the "emerging" trends of this year to be: R'n'B aesthetics, goth synth pop and, of course, the 70s disco.
Now, the inspiration for this list came from songs released this year - there were quite a few, but the list expanded to include a handful release in the previous 4 years. You know, to truly highlight this as a "trend".
Break out those four wheel skates and disco ball!
