Dave places this album in the early 90s: "If I was to say what time this record would have came out, I would have said some time before Rust in Peace or sometime after Countdown to Extinction…The critics called The System a return to form, but this is even more so."

I sure hope so, but I'm not so sure that the Drover brothers are an equal replacement for Marty Friedman and Nick Menza. Technically gifted, for sure, but lacking the same kind of fluorishes that made RIP and CtE classics. Maybe this one will be their classic contribution to the Megadeth catalog.

• This album was recorded in David Gilmour's house.
• Shawn Drover did the drums using John Bonham's drum kit.
