écailles de lune translations

I'm sure you guys have the original French texts available to you somehow, be it the physical CD copy or websites such as metal-archives.com, so I'm not going to paste the lyrics for each song before giving the English translation. It's a waste of space! I'd like to also preface this by saying that, while I do enjoy translating lyrics from French to English, I'm not a professional and I've only spent a day or two working on these translations (specifically the title tracks). That being said, feel free to give me a shout regarding your comments, concerns, questions, etc. I hope you guys get a better understanding of the music with these translations! :)

AlcestÉcailles de Lune (Part I)
the light of July crashes against the shore and, pensive,
I lose my thoughts in the burning sky.

The murmur of the waves soothes me; I benefit from these precious moments –
inviting the warm sea breeze to revive my deadened senses.

Haunted by the mirage of happy days, I wait until
the echoes of the night are born to the coast.

My thoughts fade away into the horizon

AlcestÉcailles de Lune (Part II)
The hours spin away, the sea sighs above the distant stars
deposited in a pinch of gold trembling on the waves

She works her hypnotic dance and absorbs my discolored look

Such a soul in suspension, I want to fearlessly disappear
under the waves; to hear the depths shout their bewitched complaints.

They call me from their kingdom of pearls and sharp sea scales
to bring me far from mine – a world that is foreign to me.

They take my hand, gently, I want to drown in the black
water which silently welcomes me.

Say goodbye to the morning light,
let the cold currents purify my thoughts,
shock my skin, to find sleep at the far end of the ocean.

AlcestPercées de Lumière
The wave of
intense heat
from the sun intoxicates me.

I overwhelm myself in its light
and let the ardent rays
free my numbed limbs
to offer myself a second birth.

High above is
a cloudless sky,
of a stunning blue,
which melts with the sea

Drunk with light
I no longer feel the need
to walk along your soil
and hear the cries
of my inhuman soul
crying out for its liberation.

AlcestSur L'Océan Couleur de Fer
This is originally a poem by Paul-Jean Toulet which, unlike Baudelaire &co, I've had a bit of problem finding "official English translations" for this poem and I don't know if I feel comfortable translating it into English. Still, it is my favorite song on the album and I suppose there is a certain air of mystery in leaving at least one song untranslated..

:)
