On one of those days, when it is too cold to snow, because the temperature is subfreezing, we meet The Bewitched Hands after their radio session at Funkhaus . The six-piece band is short in time, so we daringly decide to do the filming session outside on the way to their venue. The wind gives us cills when we reach Karlsplatz. But the acoustics seem to be good at least. It is almost a miracle how the Reims-based band manages to play their instruments with their fingers getting numb. Under those almost painful conditions The Bewitched Hands’ performance of the matching song “Work“ indeed feels heroic. Yet it is not only the human body that gives in in such a cold. For the second song “Out Of Myself“ the guitar of singer Sébastien Adam is almost untunable. And then…“Putain!“…it just needs a small curse and things get going again. What a mind-blowing and jubilant performance of a band that does not make much fuss about the harsh setting! Sébastien’s résumé appears almost stoical: “J’ai très froid.“
