Thanks for the accept...Stevie's "Saturn" is a great lyrical piece, as is most all of "SITKOL", but if you wanna really give Stevie his props lyrically...he is at his best in the straight-forward political "Cash in Your Face" from "Hotter Than July". He lets loose like he had just had the experience he talks about in that song. And also Marvin Gaye and Prince -- two modern lyricists I also admire! Keep in touch!!

Your right, he is spiritual which is why his music is so great. But you said and described this brotha's music better than anyone I have heard so far, much respect!

Ok Vyntage1 I am on a roll 2day and I think I set a personal record for the longest time spent on last.fm LOL!!! I keep coming acrossed songs that I didn't even realize I had in my library... Just absolutely fell in love with a song called Holla by Everette Harp have U heard it? Beautiful saxophone music with an upbeat tempo. Have U figured out that the saxophone is my favorite instrument yet? I promised myself that I would learn how 2 play one day ( gotta quit smoking 1st ). Told myself that I would use learning how 2 play as my vice when I kick off my quit smoking attempt. Wish me luck. I think that Saxophone music is the most romantic of all other instruments what do U think? Don't be surprised if U get another message from me I can't seem 2 pull myself away from here 2day 4 hours and counting... I enjoy great music "Let the Music Play"

hey vintage, ever noticed that all the guys who tried to leave EWF always ended up back at the trough.they were great together.that was an illusion to so many r&b singers and song writers.it takes more than just the ability to do it.from you to the bus driver and shoe shiner requires a lot more than just what "you" do. respectfully, a good idea but not for many. been there done that and seen so many ruin a good sound "they " had. HEY BUT........

found you on mariah's it's a wrap page. we disagree about the influence of rappers on mariah's lyrics and cadence. i don't think it was natural to her...her first albums never hinted at the rhythm & flow that would accompany her songwriting & vocals post-daydream. how could she not be influenced by the rappers she's collaborated with. mariah is a beast in the studio; a very astute woman with an ear for rhythm. we both love her though!

Vyntage.....I read your comment on SLY (Herbie Hancock/HeadHunters). If you want to hear some great Clavinet grooves then check out MEDESKI, MARTIN, and WOOD !! Medeski plays a mean Hammond B3 and plays it OLD SCHOOL. John Scofield has a couple of albums out with these guys as well. Enjoy !!

Yep, you're right about the dancing feet in Blame it On the Boogie, lol. Mike was gettin it tho in that video. The man was just, energetic. It's something to be able to feel so much, with your own music, and translate it into bad ass moves.
