Yeahm, true. playing with a group is more fun and kind of enforces you to improve because you want to be the best of your perceived potential. which, i assume would be set as high or higher than your idols. optimistic youths we were.... but i think you should keep that guitar, who knows, you might pick it up way later again in life. ya dig?

Man, you sold it all? that's nuts. you could've still hobby-played. i'm a secret creator - i kind of make scenarios up in my head, write 'em down, and then laugh at them privately another time. i don't think i'll ever be good enough to share but at least i have these little moments. i'm no painter though, i tried painting and it didn't work out. also charcoal, so messy.

Well, I live in the US. And since I live up north our weather is little unpredictable. We've had snow storms happen during summer time, and sometimes it will be way too hot for a winter day. I live in small college town so we tend to have tons of drunk students roaming the streets and causing a ruckus more often than not. It's pretty safe here overall though. Maaan, I think corrupt governments are just a common occurrence, in most places anyway. (We're both a little pessimistic I suppose.) I'm terrible at current events but we're still struggling with racism/sexism/sexuality debates etc etc A lot of issues are either under the radar or swept under the rug. . . It's a real tug of war with our political system. I personally feel like the "Us" vs "Them" mentality held by our political parties is holding us back from being a truly unified and rational country. If we truly want to be "#1" we have loads of work to do. It's not terrible here, but its by no means the best like we pretend it is

Sorry for the late reply! I'm readjusting to work again and it's hitting me pretty hard. Thank you for recs. I've heard of Dropdead, Charles Bronson, Magrudergrind, and Iron Lung, but the rest of these are new to me so I'm gonna check 'em out. Man, I hope there's a miracle price drop where you live so you can get some new technology too (when you need it.) What's it like in Caracas?

Dang, I hope to have a library as extensive as yours one day. I'll need to collect more externals. . . and a bigger, better, computer. This poor little laptop of mine, oh, how brave and strong it is! (I still fear for it's health... Sigh.) "since I started to use this site I noticed there was much more music to explore, and still continue looking for new stuff or rare old gems" <--- We are one in the same. Discovering lastfm was both a blessing and a curse for me. One the one hand, man, there is so much obscure music that just shouldn't be obscure. I want to find it and share it with everyone. On the other hand.... poor, poor laptop. Hahaha. And thank you, I'm forever discovering what I like in music. Infest is insane! I'm actually looking for more powerviolence/fastcore etc etc if you have recommendations please do send them my way~

Since you listen to Billy Bang's Vietnam: Reflections you may also be interested in reading about Vietnamese Jazz. http://www.laboratoriummuzycznychfuzji.com/2013/02/felietorium-jazz-w-wietnamie-z-cyklu.html There's a translation tool in the right top corner of the page.

In fact, "Lonely at the top" was written for Frank Sinatra, it was a song about him, but he rejected the song (I've read it in youtube comments today). No wonder why he did it )) I have to admit that song about Frank Sinatra can't be a song about Frank Zappa even though they had the same names :) As for people, I meant men but not musicians, but of course it was more correct to count musicians only :) Anyway, there are even more people than 42, I counted the ones who could be seen in your page's pictures, but full photos include more men :)

Since "Friends that listen to..." appeared on last.fm pages of artists it's a usual thing for me to visit a page of a musician whose music I never listened to but I would like to and too see that you've already listened to that musican (or band) :) Your recommendation was very good, I've listened to Disk 1 of Monk's Casino and I want to listen more :)

Second: Purple is great, I like that nice melody a lot and I like all the rest =) I've listened to the whole EOTH, I also agree that it is one of the finest achievements of that era. It's like an avant-garde jazz rock opera that is enjoyable to listen to, I say "rock" because some compositions sounded like prog rock compositions for me, they reminded me some albums of King Crimson, and also Pink Floyd's "The Wall" that was released in 1979, in 9 years after EOTH. EOTH also reminded me some avant-garde compositions of Harry Partch along with many other things that came to my mind when I listened to it. I enjoyed the female vocals a lot as well as you, and the men vocals as well.

Yeah, sounds good, though it was like a sawing indeed xD Open air concerts look informal, I agree with that too. In this video there was a big stage that made a show less informal, but nevertheless it looked more informal than if it was in a place like Dom, 'cos Dom is a small indoor room with chairs and so on, where you feel a bit like you are there to watch a school play or something like that. By the way, Schlippenbach Trio concert (you know that I was at that concert last year) was in another place, it was also an indoor place with chairs, but the room was much more spacious and there were no stage, just a free space with chairs around it. I liked it. Finally I think it doesn't matter where or how to listen to music if it is a worthy music.
